According to Netkas (here) the GT120 graphics board in the MacPro is just a rebranded/renamed 9500GT.

Assuming that's true, does that mean that the drivers included with 10.5.7 to support that card should "just work"? I don't know if the NVidia cards that Apple uses has a special firmware like the ATI cards do, etc.

Would be sweet if I could use the Apple GT120 drivers for my 9500GT in my hackintosh :)

It never "just works" because of outstanding issues identifying a card that is not an official Apple card. For real Macs you can't use PC cards because of the completely mismatched firmware (BIOS vs. EFI) whereas Hacks resolve that issue with the EFI emulator.

Using a 9500GT with your Hack shouldn't be too hard, you'll just have to use one of many methods (EFI strings, plist editors, etc) to force the OS to recognize the card, since the product ID won't perfectly match an Apple product ID.

I have my 9500GT working already, albeit using the NV8600 EFI string, since that's the closest thing to a 9500 that we have available strings for :)

It's not a huge deal, I just thought it would be nice if it did work :)
