NVidia graphics cards available in LapTops yet?

Don't know squat about laptops. My mother in law is going to buy one. I remember that NVidia was supposed to have laptop cards out soon, so are they available? If so, who sells 'em.

If they are not available yet, when are they supposed to be released?

Thanks.

As far as I know, none of NVIDIA's products meet the power/heat requirements for laptop accelerators yet. The best current solution for laptops is ATI's Rage derived Rage Mobility, & I'm not even sure if you can find them in any currently shipping laptops. Check out Anand's review here.

Eventually, I'm sure that a GF2 MX variant will be produced, probably on their new 0.13 micron process, that will provide excellent 3D acceleration for laptops. But really, what's the point? How many people want a laptop for a game machine?

They will have to do a lot of development first to reduce heat and power consumption. Nvidia's are real hogs both ways.

None of NVidia's cards have yet been released for the mobile market, and it could be quite some time before any of them are. Even the GeForce2 MX currently produces much too much heat and has far too high of power requirements for use in a laptop.
The best 3D cards available for a laptop are currently ATI's Rage Mobility chipset and even that is seldom seen in laptops.
