So I've been reading around and realized the next year of NVIDIA GPU launches was going to be a little more complicated than what I thought.

I'm sitting on an older GTX 480, but I want to hit the next sweet spot since I'll hold onto the next GPU I buy for another five years. I'll also hold out until the first 20nm GPU as I don't want a repeat of the 480 -> 580 switch all over again. Basically, NVIDIA launched the GTX 480 and a mere 8 months later launched a die-shrunk 580 from it.

Oct/Nov is 880 on 28nm
Titan II is early 2015? Will it be 28 or 20nm?
20nm 980 or 880 Ti in late 2015?

Anther thing... If the Titan II really is ~600mm^2 then it's probably 28nm... but what will NVIDA do once 20nm rolls around? If a die-shrunk 880 becomes the 980 GTX, then I guess the die-shrunk Titan II would turn into a 980 Ti? Basically what happened with the 480 / 580 and the Titan / 780 Ti all over again if so...

A die shrunk 880 should turn into the 970 at the very least, if it follows Kepler. Actually should be more like a 960 if it's more like the prior gens.
