Yeah, thanks, guys, and congratulations on the great quarter. For Q2, could you kind of talk about how much the contribution you expect from Pascal and also maybe give us an update on where you think yield is progressing right now?

Jen-Hsun Huang - Co-Founder, President, CEO & Director

Yeah. Thanks a lot, Deepon. We're expecting a lot of Pascal. Pascal was just announced for 1080 and 1070, and both of those products are in full production. We're in production with Tesla P100, and so all of our Pascal products that we've announced are in full production, so we're expecting a lot.

Yields are good. And building these semiconductor devices are always hard, but we're very good at it. And this is now a year behind when the first 16-nanometer FinFET products went into production in TSMC. They have yields under great control. TSMC is the world's best manufacturer of semiconductors, and we work very closely with them to make sure that we're ready for production, and we surely wouldn't have announced it if we didn't have manufacturing under control. So we're in great shape.

The availability will vary from partner to partner, but we expect that the custom designs of our partners are available in early June.

Looks like custom cards won't stop there...

...latest news is that Gigabyte non-public version of the card is the GTX 1080 Gaming G1 core frequency can reach 2.4Ghz, compared to the public version of the top 13% frequency increase again.

Its quite clear that those claiming "bad yields" was simply making up FUD :)

And look at that 2.1Ghz performance! And its not even with overclocked GDDR5X or up to the rumoured 2.4Ghz AIB designs. Just a plain reference cooler OC. We know Zotac will be delivering a card with 11.3Ghz GDDR5X as factory OC.

Looks like the overclocks are impressive, although it's weird that we keep hearing about 2.4ghz etc, but only seeing 2.1ghz results. Maybe once we're closer to the 17th we'll start seeing other results.

I wonder what happens to perf/watt once the clocks start getting higher.

Just need the reviews to come in especially for the custom cards to know the actual potential.

Yields are not being discussed in a product-related thread. Nice try though.

yeap we didnt discussed like 3h ago no... also spare me lol you just took a news that wasnt worth it to have its own thread and you put the very same bench we saw like 6-7 hours ago on it
i get it

Maybe first at Computex.

We know for sure Zotac delivers 11.3Ghz GDDR5X.

And this says the Gigabyte Gaming G1 GTX1080 is clocked at 2.4Ghz.

Wait a second.

OC GPU by 13% (from previous 1886MHz to 2114MHz) and let memory clocks intact now gives 24% more performance? A magic?

VideoCardz at their best I see :D

Videocardz just makes up graphs and posts them for clicks. They do this a lot. Fake graph is fake. Sites like this and wccftech are the worst for garbage information. They know their audience though, put out the right garbage and they'll eat it up.

Man we can't even get pass the first page anymore. Haha.

I'm just happy to keep hearing there will be non-founders in early June. I need a new card!

I may plop down for a 1070 out of the gate. Been 2.5 years since I last bought a card. And a buddy is going to buy my GTX 770 for 100 bucks.

Do people in investing firms actually listen to talk like this?

It sounds like something you would say if explaining to a young child. Not trying to criticize Nvidia here, but the vague, no details answer, being adequate for a big investor.

Lying on a conference call is highly illegal, just FYI.

But is being misleading illegal? There's the bit about partners' designs being available in early June, but that leaves the possibility of them being only the top of the stack to make the most of a limited supply or the cheaper models being in low supply, and both of those possibilities would mean the feared time period when you have to pay the founders' edition price if you want in.

Hopefully the soothing platitudes and all their implications are true and NV's hitting it out of the park, but I'm putting another grain of salt into my rapidly approaching case of hypertension :D.

I thought the same. Little too good to be true, is it not? Even if the GPU is impressive anyway....
