I started getting system hangs in my OpenGL games, mainly Tribes 1, Tribes 2, and Jedi Knight 2. At first, I thought it was the heat from my video card, since it had the characteristics of a thermal lockup. I bought a brand new, Gainward GF3 ti200. Installed it, and I still had problems. My CPU temp in the BIOS never is over 110degrees right after the lockups. I run a AMD 800tbird w/ a Thermalright AX-7 (no fan). I installed the fan back on it, and it didnt help. Asus A7V motherboard.

Basically, whenever I load an OpenGL game, it will run smoothly for a few minutes, and then it will lockup. The sound skips, and the system wont respond. It has to be rebooted via reset switch.

I've already disabled Fast write in the BIOS, and set my AGP aperature size to 64MB. In windows, the only unnassigned thing in my hardware profile is the Mass storage controller (onboard Promise ATA-100) which is disabled in BIOS and in windows.

I've formatted several times with FAT32 and NTFS, and installed SP2, Critical updates package, DirectX 8.1, and Nvidia Detonator 28.32 (or whatever the newest one on there site is as of 4/01).

Other hardware I have installed, but I dont believe is causing the conflict: SB Live! Value PCI, Kingston 10/100 PCI NIC.

I have removed both of those, and it still locks up. I have also altered my registery for hte AMD AGP memory paging error. Oh, and I have also tested my PSU, and used a spare 300w. They both lockup (365w enermax and 300w generic)

Please help, I have ran out of ideas!!

:(

I just installed the 4-in-1s, and everything is fine. Thank you

Oh btw, I have 2x Panaflow 120mm fans blowing onto the CPU/ AGP/PCI bus on the side of my case. I doubt anything gets too hot :D
