That is similar to the physX demo that was out last year. The GF100 demo looks more impressive than those however.

Thats amazing... too bad tech demos are always a few years into the future, so we wont see water like this in games any time soon... Or maybe we will considering how popular DX11 seems to be

Looks more viscous than water, maybe light oil.......hmmmmm:hmm:

They need Ruby and Dawn wrestling in there.

Ha, I should be in marketing.:awe:

Might just be the timer, it was obviously slowed down as the gravity normally makes drops of liquid fall faster than that.

Or maybe the card isn't powerful enough to render it at full speed in real time.

Could have been to scale size also. Like Olympic swimming pool size. That would account for the wave action.

Not by the figures they put out here

H slide on the water demo

In my opinion the model is more water and oil than water and air. The surface tension and viscosity is way to high.

Anyone else remember mineral oil and water with food coloring or am I showing my age?

True, if it was just the timer, water would still splash more than what the video shows. Viscosity does look higher. They could have reduced 'g' as well, the result would be the same as water-oil mix.

the coolest part is concurrent kernels and fast switching so it can do this physx stuff while also rendering.

That was amazing. I hope things like this start appearing in games soon, even if it's a toned down version.

What sucks a player in is something that evokes emotion.
Facial expressions still suck.

This is cool, but at the end of the day if it doesn't make people buy more games (because they're not any more entertained) then it doesn't matter.

Crysis water is a good as anybody really needs. IMO.

The hair is good too but why is the rendering always 1/5th real time? Looks like that's someone's hair on the moon or something, heh.

I would sit and throw stuff in the water all day. Something like this would definitely persuade me to buy a game. I love messing with physics sandboxes.
