7800nu at 16 pipeline, 6 vs and most probably 256bit 256mb.
110nm, which means there is headroom for OCing.

This month is going get alot interesting. Benches, need benches.. enough with speculation!!!

What you guys think?

50% yield on the 90nm?? :Q

Is there a chance that the 7800nu will beat a 6800U? The memory clocks are hurting it...

What do you guys think the pricing will be?

Well I hope vr zone is more accurate with their Nvidia info than their Ati info. And I also hope that new cards are on the way. :beer:

Benches and pricing are what im most interested in seeing. I really would like to see this card in action against the not-quite-here-yet ati offerings. We need more of these affordable 16-piped cards.

7800nu looks like it'll go either head to head with the 6800U or in between the GT and U. It could probably smoke the Ultra with a good overclock, however.

Looks just like 6800 GT/U specs, Im wondering what the point is in releasing it.

Just to use failed GT/GTX chips I suppose.

Also 110nm means smaller die which means more dies per wafer means cheaper manufacturing costs if it's not failed 7800GT(X) cores.

Most likely and i would expect the 6800Us to be phased out over the next quarter or so.

If it comes out at $150 - 200, they'll all be sold out the first day. Picking up the equivalent of a 6800gt/ultra with some new features for $150 is a steal, even for $200.

MSRP will probably be $349 cause 6800GT is $299, but it all depends on ATI's new cards price performance.

not that I care cause I already have the top dog 7800GTX. woot!

Could be that. But it's always a good thing to have your entire lineup sporting the same features. Remember TSAA is a big IQ win - and from the looks of things IQ is where the battle will be fought and won this time around.

It depends on how well my current card holds up in Quake 4. If it shows up with a reasonable price tag, I will ask for one for X-Mas.

the 7800Nu will probably be the same if not faster than the 6800U. afterall the pipelines are more efficient. and of course theres now going to be TSAA.

it'll run cooler and quieter than the 6800U, and probably OC further so i think its worth having. specialy for people who wanna move up from 9800's and 6600's

QFT. The fact the 7800 GT runs about 60c at load stcok cooling, the 7800nu will probably run even more cooler, like 50c at load.

I wander how much power the R520s consume plus its power consumption. Nvidia seemed to have done a great job in this area, and big thumbs up :thumbsup:

I think it's because companies DO annoying things like this!!!

Radeon 8500 -> Radeon 9100... same thing
GeForce4 MX 420,440 -> GeForce2... same thing

there are probably more!

nice one there from nvidia. 6800 ultra's are overpriced nowadays, can't wait to see them get replaced =)

Because in this case it may perform the same as a 6800U, but i can tell you that this one will be far quieter and use far less power than the 6800U, and will have whatever "new" features they added for the 7 series. And (most important i believe) it will offer that performance at a far lower price point than anything else on the market, which will help overall nvidia sales.

I would expect it to MSRP for $349 as others have said, and as far as the 7800NU VS 6800U thing goes, it would be cheaper for them to produce 7800NU's as they would use a smaller die size and therefore have more per wafer. It's actually a smart move for me, though I'd like to see AGP versions of some of these...
