just installed a new geforcefx 5600 into my sn41g2 shuttle pc. flashed newest bios for shuttle. got newest official drivers and beta drivers for geforcefx card. in a nutshell: install win2k/xp, install mb drivers, install video card drivers. after rebooting from installing video card drivers, right after the windows logo screen with the bar going across the bottom, and where SHOULD be the screen showing a login window, is a black screen.... :| i have tried every combination of nvidia drivers with win2k and winxp, and still the same result every time. its obvious its a nvidia driver issue, but how the hell do i get around this now? i tried every driver from the official 44.03 to the beta 45.20 and still the same. has anyone got any ideas? i am so stuck...

update:
disabled nview and nwiz in msupdate startup, so now i can see into windows again at least. now, how to deal with direct3d bug? all games (ut2k3, diablo2, c&c generals, etc) using direct3d/directdraw show horizontal blur lines... any suggestions?

ok, i narrowed it down to being the lcd hz rate. i installed powerstrip to see if i can fix it, but for some reason all options to change the hz rate not available for 1024x768 and up. if i go down to 640x480, then i see it all become available(?). 😕 so now, i have found that since all my games were originally or defaultly set to either 640x480 or 800x600 when they start is why i see a black screen only, since the hz rate is set incorrectly somewhere. (if you slide the resolution bar and look at some of the resolutions, you see some set to 15hz(?)) if i set it to 1024x768 or higher, then it will be fine though, but can't play diablo2 or starcraft. already tried the hz override in the nvidia drivers options page too. that doesn't seem to do anything. if i try to change the hz rate even just one little notch in powerstrip, the screen blacks out. anyone else know a way to fix this? not being able to play at 800x600 and 640x480 sucks. :|
