I was shopping around for a new notebook (preferably one that includes a DVD writer) and noticed that Dell is now carrying the Geforce4 4200 Go in their new Inspiron 8500 notebook line:

The Inspiron 8500 also features wide screen display, nice for watching DVD movies. However, it won't ship until April 10th.

I think I am still going to wait and see what notebooks get announced on the 12th of March. I would like one that has a DVD writer built in. The Inspiron 8500 doesn't feature this as an option. I would go with a Powerbook but I need to have two mouse buttons on the notebook. I am much more effifient with two mouse buttons. Would be nice to have a nice gaming card as well such as the Geforce 4200 Go.

P.S. Has anyone tried installing Linux on a Powerbook? How well does it work?

they are just now getting the 4200?

I recently baught from dell, their tech support sucks.

specifcally i have a wireless keyboard/mouse combo, and the mouse is draining batteries in 2-3 weeks. I had to contact logitech to get any help. dell just kept telling me to buy another one (azzwholes) I've used gateway inthe past, and always gotten good service.

well, if Dell didn't make the mouse, i'm not sure how you can expect them to support it.

The Ti4200 Go seems like the anti-laptop card. It would run warm, with a heavy power requirement.

I'm looking forward to the Radeon 9600 Mobility.
