With the 2060 you get Tensor cores and RT cores, which all previous desktop NV cards lacked. You also get a whole new shader engine, and you get all new GDDR6 vram.
The cards will probably settle at $299.

I am tempted to bite on one (the little EVGA one or small Zotac one) for my second gaming PC which I take to LAN parties. I have an EVGA 1060 in it now and even at 1080p, I feel like I'm leaving performance on the table.
I just ordered the EVGA one. I want to play with it, and see how it does folding, and power consumption.

The Zotac review I read earlier at TechPower talked about how noisy its fans were in comparison to other cards:

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zotac/GeForce_RTX_2060_AMP/37.html

Yeah, the only reason I thought about the Zotac is because I have a Riotoro CR1080 case and I'm pretty confident the EVGA, Zotac, and the small Gigabyte will fit into it. I won't buy the Gigabyte card, the EVGA isn't in stock at Newegg Indy, but the Zotac is. :) I'd much prefer EVGA or even MSI.

Let me know how you like it. I think my next LAN party is in March so I have time to decide. The 1060 in it is "adequate" and I probably should stick with it since I really only use this PC 3-4 times per year for gaming, but the upgrade itch is hitting me. I have a 980 Ti I tried to put into the case but it wouldn't fit - too bad, because that would've been perfect.

Were the reference cards only for reviewers? I don't see a single one on newegg. Kind of tempted to get one but I'll wait a couple of months to see if my 970 can handle Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice at 1080p first. If my 970 can hold up I'll probably wait until Dying Light 2 launches in the fall or winter.

What?! RTX2060 is average 66% faster than a RX580. Doesnt matter that RX580 is only half the price when this card fails to archive at least 60FPS in 1080p in the most demanding games...

And 1440p/60FPS with RX580 is out of question when you want the best graphics.
"Best graphics" LOL.
There's hardly any difference these days between high and ultra so yes 1080p 60fps is possible on 1080p and even 1440p on RX580.

Since NV made fun of the 1180 predictions, and has gone all the way with RT marketing, it seems unlikely that we will see any 11XX cards.

There's definitely something coming beneath the 2060 - gamedebate has a report that the backlog is nearly gone in production terms at least so they'll have to fill the yawning gap quite soon.

GTX 2050ti, GTX 2050, GT 2030, etc.

Same scheme as before, I'd think.

@PeterScott
I don't know about Vega 56 but i know 580 can do 60fps if you put the settings at medium or high at 1440p. So the argument that you need a $350 card for 1440p is not really true. Also medium in most games still looks great. You can try it yourself. So gamers who need a great 1080p card don't really need a 2060. For 1440p its a good choice but vram limited if one likedls to keep cards for more than 2 years.

I'm thinking they will split the rx590 and Vega 56 and put a card smack in between them for $275 , then smack a card right in between a rx 570 and 580 for $200.
then mabe a gtx2030 card as fast as a gtx1050ti for $130.
GTX 2050ti = GTX 1060 range
GTX 2050 = GTX 1050ti range
GT 2030 = GTX 1050 range
GT 2010 = GT 2030 range
