finally got my sli setup done today and this happened to release so seemed like good timing. not sure about virtual memory, but VRAM use has skyrocketed compared to using the single card. with single card used about 2.8GB in BF4 now it goes over 4GB.

GTA V used around 3GB now it shows 6.8GB which isnt even possible. don't know if its just an rivatuner OSD bug not reporting right or what (edit: gpuz and aida 64 are reporting the same numbers as rivatuner OSD for what its worth). game didnt start tanking or anything but very strange indeed.

With single 980ti desktop vRAM use was about 500mb, now with sli on its sitting at 1.2GB on the desktop with only a couple chrome tabs open.....anyone else have anything to report on these?

Sometimes memory usage is reported across both cards as single usage. So if it says 6GB it's probably 3GB on each card just reporting a single number. Kind of like how some applications and games report that I have 8GB VRAM when clearly that's false.

I heard that RIVA Tuner and GPU-Z has a glitch with these latest drivers so ignore what they report and just enjoy the game as long as it doesn't stutter. Many on the nVIDIA Forums reported that while GPU-Z usage still showed a huge memory leak, the games ran perfectly fine.

Yeah everything was running fine. the second card has an Asic value of 85%! was truly something watching witcher 3 run at 80 fps @ 1440p with everything ultra including hairworks...

So since I switched to Windows 10, I had been getting out of memory crashes on my rig with a Titan Z. This time of year I haven't much time for toys so I didn't invest much time into figuring out what was wrong. Basically anytime I played BF4 for more than 30 mins I would get the crash. Last night I saw this thread with the hot fix and downloaded the driver. I played for about 2 hours last night with no crash. I would say that at least for me the issue is solved.

Happy camper over here

Are the osd tools still showing exceptionally high vram use for you despite smooth performance?

Question: are hotfix drivers not ever listed in the usual download spots on Nvidia's website?

no they are not.....you need to go to their support site and search for them

So how would you know they exist to fix a specific issue? Like I never heard of this virtual memory issue until I read this thread heh.

you would have to be looking at their forums I suppose...........Im with you though, I didn't know about this one till this thread. I think they should give it a little more visibility.

I was just thinking, what if I had this issue and didn't know why. I might never find these drivers. I wouldn't have any idea that the problem was GPU drivers. I did notice they are unsigned and I had to approve them before they installed. Maybe that's part of the reason they are kind of hidden.

After going through their support section, they would direct you to the download page. Or by looking through their official forums.

It will most likely be integrated in the next release. They do the hotfix drivers to immediately relieve those who are having issues.
