I just recently bought an Asus G1 laptop (thanks to input from users here that helped me narrow my choice down
), and I then bought a Dell 22" LCD to connect to the laptop to be used as my main monitor when I was at home.
My question is if anyone here had figured out how to get the Nvidia Control Panel to make extending the desktop to the left the default instead of the right (my desk lends itself much better having the laptop on the left).
I have gone through basically every set of options I can find in the control panel and I can't find anywhere to change the default or lock my current settings. I am pretty sure it is the Nvidia Contol Panel, because everytime I start my laptop back up (with the Dell screen still attached from the last shut down), for the first 2 or 3 seconds the laptop is extended to the left like I set it the previous time, then both the laptop and the LCD flash and when they come back, it is extended back to the right again. This is mainly just a pain because everytime I log in, I have to go back into windows display contols and move the monitor back to the left.
P.S. I also believe it has to do with the Nvidia Control Panel resetting the settings back to its defaults because my friend has a laptop and has the same setup (his is an Acer with on board intel video) and he only had ot set the window control panel settings once, and they do not reset regardless of how he disconnects the LCD or restarts/sleeps the laptop.
Thanks to any and all in advance for anything you have found out.
