Nvidia Geforce driver update 314.22 ruins gaming on my Alienware M14x running Win 8

I recently got an M14x R2 from Alienware. Games played fantastically until I updated the Graphics drivers. After that, gameplay was choppy and some games didn't even start. My graphics card is a Geforce GT 650M version 311.06. The newest update is 314.22 and it destroys gaming on this computer.

Im not sure if you are supposed to use NV web site drivers for mobile GPUs, you have to wait for the OEM to deliver driver updates.....

Since forever? OEMs don't even typically update their graphics drivers on the website.

My 1440 still lists the drivers for it's 9400m as 179.62 from 5/31/2009 :awe:

Yeah. The only instance is in very rare laptops that have specialized hybrid systems (i.e. the manually switched Z's from a few years back).
