I was using an ATI Radeon 9800 PRO (128MB) graphic card on my PC and changed it to a Nvidia Geforce 7300GT (512MB) a while ago. Ever since putting the 7300GT card when I play my videos they appear really dark. I've tried playing with WMP, Winamp and VLC players but the results are all same, dark videos. Games however run smooth and all other display is fine. What could be the reason, how can I solve this problem?

First question, did you remove the ATI drivers using a tool like Driver Cleaner? http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745 (If not I'd recommend doing so, then reinstalling the latest nVidia drivers for your card)

Second, if you have the nVidia drivers instaled, try going to your nVidia control panel, and messing around with the gamma settings, and whatnot. Sounds like a video driver issue to me.

Thanks a million, changing around the Video Settings in the Nvidia Control Panel worked! Now my videos are playing just fine. :)

This is what I did:

Nvidia Control Panel > Video and Television > Video > Adjust video color settings > Changed the Contrast. The test image on the side of the panel helps. Cheers!
