  • Increases gaming performance by up to 12% for dual-core CPUs in CPU-limited cases.
NVIDIA Update

  • In Release 275, NVIDIA Update adds automatic SLI, multi-GPU, and antialiasing (AA) profile updates. These profile updates are automatically downloaded from NVIDIA and silently installed on your PC, keeping it up-to-the-minute with the latest game profiles. When you install a Release 270 or later GeForce driver from www.nvidia.com, you will be presented with the option to install NVIDIA Update. Click here to learn more about NVIDIA Update.
Desktop Scaling

  • New NVIDIA Control Panel user interface for configuring desktop scaling, including new preview window.
  • Now consistently available for all displays (including VGA and HDMI connections).

  • Improved desktop resizing user interface that guides the user to disable overscanning using their HDTV controls and also provides a fallback option to enable desktop resizing via the NVIDIA Control panel.
  • NVIDIA desktop resizing now creates a custom, resized resolution with 1:1 pixel mapping and resizes standard resolutions for games that don’t support custom resolutions.
NVIDIA 3D Vision

  • With Release 275 drivers, the 3D Vision Controller driver is now included with all GPU driver installations. This driver package includes v275.33 3D Vision Controller driver. Another thank you and will have to install. I notice not many talking about it, Dirt 3. The game rocks. It seems to drive my gtx 460's sli more than any recent game. There is night, dusk, snow spraying, falling racing, in many new great race locations. Some in forests, citites. It is a AMD evolved game, but plays/feels very polished on my multi-gpu rig, which has not been the norm lately.

Wow, amazing gains in Shogun Total War 2 on the GTX 460, I'll have to test out some different titles.

Anyone having trouble with whatever monitoring system they use. For some reason after the new drivers EVGA Precision shuts down when I sleep for extended periods. Didn't have this trouble with the 275 beta. It's set to start with Windows and it was staying on all the time before.

Thanks, OP for the heads up.

Any point in installing the Nvidia Update for my GTX460 if I am not doing SLI?

Will be interesting to test this out to see if the claimed improvement on dual-core CPUs is for real. I've never seen more than 90% GPU utilization on my GTX460, and it was usually around 75% even with what should have been "GPU-limited" settings. I figured that my e8400 just couldn't feed it enough data. But maybe it was a driver issue after all (took long enough for nVidia to address this, by the way).

I had an overclocked gtx465 on an e8400@ 4.05ghz. When I upgraded to i7-2600k, I got some pretty big jumps in some games that weren't supposed to be CPU-limited.

If only they'd find a way to keep my 480 from "idling" at 700MHz with two monitors plugged in...

Edit: Sorry, that should be 405 MHz. It idles at 50MHz with one monitor.

So did I, until I bought one. They "fixed" it by changing the fan contour, so it no longer idles at very high temperatures, at the cost of increased noise.

Do you have two monitors plugged in?

LMAO, going to fire up doom next? lol
i just did over the weekend.
:whiste:

i have recently evaluated over 70 games for a 3D Vision article coming up in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, 3D Vision no longer supports OpenGL (except with Quadro). The oldest game that i got working great in S3D was No One Lives Forever 2 (2002).

Anyway, i am evaluating 275.33 vs. 271.58 and the new drivers seem to have nice performance games in some of the 30 games i am benching now. i just added Civ V, Shogun II and DiRT3 to my benching suite.
-- unfortunately that means now i got to let a few old ones go

275.33 failed to install in two tries with my GTX 460. I even downloaded the file again just to make sure it wasn't corrupt. It looked like my speedfan was hanging (dialog box when minimized would leave the title bar behind). The 266.58 installed without problem though and I'm up and running. There seems to be something wrong with the 275.33 drivers if using monitoring software. Maybe if I update speedfan it might help, but not sure.

Great. However, there is not a lot of improvement in Metro 2033

If you want higher minimums, try overclocking your CPU
- driver sets only usually make dramatic FPS improvements in newer games.
