Nvidia Gamestream

UNhooked

Golden Member
I know it's still to early tell but what all do I need to stream games from the PC to my TV. I just built my gaming/htpc for my Living room, but if Gamestream is all what it's cracked up to be. I'll just dismantle it and sell everything except 780.

1) Nvidia Shield for sure.
2) 5Ghz network?
3) What would I need to connect to my TV? Shield?

I already have been doing this with my shield.

Steam Stream from PC on shield, connect HDMI cable from shield to TV, boom.

Only issue is that it renders at shields 720p, instead of tv's 1080p.
I heard nvidia is fixing this option or will fix it soon.

edit: also forgot nvidia will include 60fps mode, currently it's streaming at 30fps.

I use both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, no differences in my house that I've noticed. My 2.4 can do 130mbps

hmm so you do need to have a hdmi connected to the tv from the shield. Hmm prefer a wireless setup. May have to wait and see what SteamOS will be doing

How is the experience at 720P, lags? etc?
