nvidia forceware bug

I cant say this for every single nvidia card out there, and every single forceware version out there, but if you try to set

Do not use color correction

under the video settings of the new CP, you computer will BSOD everytime you try to play and mpg file with WMP. pretty gay. I tried a million times, restarted a million times, and finally figured out that I had to select on of the options, 5K, 7K, or 9K to make it work.
I never had this problem before because I always left it at default 7K, but today i tried do not use color correction because it looked better. the white was more natural.

well so much for that. i think nvidia should work on a fix since color correction affects colors in video in more of a bad way then a good way (see the overlay example in the CP).

I suggest you reposts these at the nVIDIA support forums. Possibly contacting with Chris Ray (who can directly talk to the forceware team) so it becomes fixed in the next driver release hopefully. Letting them know is a good idea. Nice find.

I haven't experienced it yet. You might try to use DriverCleaner or something and reinstall the drivers.

What is the error message you get on the blue screen?

This is what ALL my videos and games look like... It has some incompatibility issues with DirectX... if I turn it off advanced settings in Display Settings videos play fine...

It can't possibly have compatibility issues with DirectX (All drivers are compatible with DirectX, however your link isn't working. It tells me that I am unauthorized.

OK.. That is what ANY video I play looks like... MPG, AVI, DVD, whatever... It also carries over into video games..

You didn't quote anyone and seeing as I commented on his it only seemed logical that you were insulting me as well. Even so, he has a problem he feels is similar to yours. Why bite his head off for it?

So his pic won't load, nobody is perfect; give him a break.

I'm experiencing the same problem with 93.71 drivers on a 7900GTO. Thanks for the fix, JAG87! Although I must say, all the color correction options are so wildly overdone that I am now stuck with a choice between my whites looking either red, blue, or purple. I wish nVidia would fix this stuff.

yup, i feel the same way man

whites look blueish or yellowish. the best option is to not use color correction, but thats not possible until nvidia gets their act together with forceware again.

NVIDIA Control Panel -> Video & Television -> Adjust video color settings -> Correction
