nVidia ForceWare 60.72 Leaked w2k/XP

installed without problems, no problems in morrowind, have yet to test DC to see if it fixed my problems i was having with previous driver

NFS:U runs pretty much the same. Since this is a ONLY recent game I play, that's all I can say about 60.72.

Installed them, haven't tried any games yet.

Desktop IQ is roughly the same as 56.72

Further feedback on performance to come.

BFVietnam seems a tad bit faster. UT2k4 performance seems the same. Didn't try Far Cry.

Overall, I figure that upgrading to 'em is worth it just to stay up to date. Might want to wait for the WHQL version though.

60.72 works fine on my notebook.... For notebook modded inf that works for any NVidia version, goto http://www.laptopvideo2go.com

60.72 however doesn't work correctly on my desktop machine which is a GeForce FX 5950 Ultra with a SGI (Silicon Graphics Inc) 17.3" 1600SW 1600x1024 16:10 LCD. It worked correctly for 27.40-56.72. There was the same issue in 23.11-versions before 27.40 where it will output 1280x1024 60hz instead of 1600x1024 60hz when that's the resolution that is selected.

Is the Windows Media Player issue resolved? Are there any release notes included with that release? If so, could someone post them... or PM me and I'll give you my e-mail address to send them to.

What WiMP issue is this Jeff? First I've heard of that bug.

Well, nVidia's release notes claim it happens only with WMP 6.4... but I have the same problem described in the release notes (found here) and the only way I've been able to solve the problem is to remove InterVideo WinDVD. nVidia also claims it's not their problem... although it never happened with any pre 56.64 drivers.

all i play is the old UT and a few new benchmarks every now and then
but i downloaded them anyways
maybe i'll try them later

Does the new driver fix the problem SoF II Multiplayer locking up? I had e-mailed Nvidia about the problem, and they said it was a compatibility problem w/Punkbuster and they'd write in a "work-around" in the next driver release. I had to roll back to 45.23 in order to get the damn game to work!

Mine doesn't lockup in SoF2 Multiplayer... I played it for 3 hours last night.
