I installed these puppies and no problems what so ever. Increased performance in Crysis and Far Cry 2 and MW2 and other games,, read release notes..

nVidia recommends these drivers actually or says just stick with 196.21 ..

Ive tested out games it works flawless and things are soo soo fast and smooth. These are good to go...

So, uh... how thorough was that 1 hour of testing? What did you bench?

No offense but we need some kind of numbers and not just some random subjective ''Oh its faster and works fine in the 2 games I tested''

This driver resolves fan speed issues reported with version 196.75 drivers. NVIDIA asks that you remove 196.75 drivers and update to either 196.21 WHQL drivers or to this 197.13 WHQL-candidate driver.

If you currently have 196.75 installed, please first uninstall it before installing 197.13.

New in Version 197.13

Adds support for Next Generation ION.
Adds support for GeForce GT 320, GeForce GT 330, and GeForce GT 340.
Upgrades PhysX System Software to version 9.10.0129.
Upgrades HD Audio driver to version 1.0.9.1 (for supported GPUs).
Increases performance in several PC games from v196.21 WHQL. The following are examples of measured improvements. Results will vary depending on your GPU and system configuration:
Up to 13% performance increase in Crysis: Warhead with a single GPU
Up to 30% performance increase in Crysis: Warhead with SLI technology
Up to 13% performance increase in H.A.W.X with single GPU
Up to 15% performance increase in H.A.W.X with SLI technology
Up to 30% performance increase in Left 4 Dead with single GPU
Up to 28% performance increase in Left 4 Dead with SLI technology
Adds SLI and multi-GPU support for top new gaming titles including Assassin Creed II, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Command and Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight, Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City, Mass Effect 2, Napoleon: Total War, and Zombie Driver.
Enhanced SLI support for Metro 2033, Supreme Commander 2, Unigine, and World of Warcraft
Adds override anti-aliasing support for Mass Effect 2.
Includes numerous bug fixes. Refer to the release notes on the documentation tab for information about the key bug fixes in this release.

They are most definitely going to have another update on March 26th when Fermi arrives so I would just wait for that.

No weird stuff happening on my end or bugs. These are solid which is why nVidia kinda recommended it.

Sorry dakangel . just ran 3dmark06 in a 4 hour loop. Anyhow my score is 16058 with these drivers. Before hand last time I ran a test like this the score was 15400

thanks

Kind of annoyed by these drivers. I used to be able to swap my primary display and the windows would follow to the primary dispaly, now I can't. Guess I'll go back.

Edit: It kind of works. I just have to exit the control panel then re run it. Huh. I can deal.

this driver seems to have fixed a video playback issue that i had for a couple weeks. i suspected it was dxva-related.

edit:
a terrible .avi issue has been brought back from 196.75. this really sucks.

I just wanted to write this, you didn't fix this problem, that's a shame really. In my case video also freezes every half of sec if I turn on GPU acceleration ... I'm disappointed ...

Win7x64, i5 750, 8800 GTS 320MB.

Display driver 197.13 is based on the same branch as 196.75. Most of the same bugs in 196.75 with exception of the fan speed issue will still be there. A new refresh driver will be posted in the near future based on a newer branch which will contain newer bug fixes. Please post feedback on 196.75 so that I may pass this along to our driver team in hopes they can make it into the next driver build.

So this is the next WHQL after 196.75 killed peoples cards, basically the same as 196.75 just with fix I'd imagine.

guess this is Nvidia's solution to ATI's 10.3 performance increase.
Kind of sucks such a huge increase is in Left 4 dead though considering how well the game runs already. Even a GTS 250 can already get over 50 fps average at 2560 x 1600 with 4x AA and maxed settings.
Not sure how much that's even going to help them in reviews since in benchmarks the 5870 gets bottlenecked by the CPU at anything less than 2560 x 1600 with 4x AA. Even there it's like 110 fps so a 480 wouldn't have much room to show off before it hits the bottleneck.

edit:
I guess there may be some room for OCing on the test setup though.
3.33 on an i7 seems low.

196.21 is pure ass. i get video driver crashes every day when gaming. I used to think nv had good drivers, but they've stopped being stable in my eyes for a long time now.

no game issues for me on 196.21 but I upgraded to 196.34 as soon as they came out just because of the oc bug on 196.21.

I get really weird glitches with flash in IE8 with this driver, I've rolled back to 195.62 and thats fixed it.

I'm really not having any luck with nVidia drivers lately, and I've been golden from when I got my G80 ages ago. Its just the last 2 or 3 driver releases have really sucked hard for me :(

197.13 is even worse than 196.21 for me. vista cant even recover from the driver crashes now.
