Anyone know if you can run a dedicated Nvidia card for physx, and have an ati card handle the visual elements?

I have a HD5970 and a GTX280. I'm not going to run both of those card simulataneously b/c of the ridiculous power draw just to get physx. but I thought I might sell the GTX and grade an older nvidia card for the physx calcs.

So what say ye of the forum? Can I do it or neh?

Huh. Ok. Found another thread suggesting this might be possible.

It is possible. Basically, IIRC, you have to use older PhysX drivers (from before they disabled this functionality), hack some stuff/do some software mods, and boom, it works fine. And only in Win7 I believe. No idea what the future holds for this work around (considering you're stuck with the drivers), but if you have the cash and time to blow, go for it.
