NVIDIA firewall & Sunbelt Kerio Firewall

Finally got my new puter up and running so I'm trying to install all the necessary safeguards. I read the security thread sticky by Shaden and that was full of great info. Learned a ton of stuff but I have to admit I didn't read all 7 pages - that was just too much to read through.

Anyway, apparently my mobo has a built in firewall (NVIDIA) which is running and appears to be working fine. Is this considered a "hardware firewall"? I'm assuming it is which means I can run it with Kerio firewall, right?

Any problems running both at the same time? Is it overkill? Thanks.

The NVIDIA NAM is known to be problematic, therefore I do not recommend installing it. Kerio is a respectable software firewall solution, and the freeware versions are still available and work like a champ.

However I would recommend an inexpensive cable/dsl router with SPI (Linksys, etc) since they can be purchased for under $40 and offer more flexibility.

I agree with john uninstall the NV Firewall and get a router along with a software based FW.
