nVidia Firewall blocking Linksys Web Admin

I have a Linksys PSUS4 print server and a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router. I can connect and configure the wireless router no prob, via the web admin or the CD utility. However, I cannot access the print server at all (besides pinging it) with the nVidia Firewall running. I get a partial load of the web admin interface, but not enough to configure it. If I shut the firewall off though, it loads fine and the CD utilities can operate normally. I also have an HP laptop which connects fine to both the WRT54GL and the PSUS4 via wireless connection.

I've added exceptions to both the Firewall and ActiveArmor sections of the NAM utility for the applications, IP, and ports 9100-9102 used bythe PSUS4, and it still will not connect or print via utility if I have the firewall running. The other odd wrinkle here, is that I can print if I do Standard TCP printing through windows (connect to port IP_192.168.1.2).

Does anyone have a workaround for using a Linksys print server driver and nVidia's firewall (nForce4 chipset)? The benefit of the Linksys driver is that it allows bidirectional support for the printer where as IP printing does not. The bidrirectional control works on the laptop, so I know it is working fine and is a firewall issue.

Cliffs:
1. WRT54GL and PSUS4 connected
2. Laptop connects / configures / prints from PSUS4 fine
3. Cannot admin the PSUS4 w/firewall enabled on my PC
4. IP printing works on my PC; using Linksys print driver does not
5. Any workaround for Linksys print driver & nForce4 firewall?

Disable the nvidia firewall, problem solved. It's a terrible firewall. I had a problem that I just could not figure out, couldn't get a printer shared on a computer. I swear we had this problem for months before we even knew it had the nvidia firewall on. Turned it off, problem solved. It's a completely useless firewall anyway, just turn it off.

I also agree that the NVIDIA NAM is problematic. Disable or uninstall it since you have a nice router w/ SPI.

Thing is, it's worked great and handles everything (current router, previous SMC router w/printserver, previous wired Linksys router) flawlessly but this one device. I swear I must be the last person on Earth to have this firewall with no issues (until a couple days ago, anyway). Meh, maybe I'll have a (slightly) quicker system w/o it.

Thanks.

Honestly you really don't even need a SW firewall if you're a savvy user. Your Linksys router, a nice antivirus, and a few quality antispyware apps should do the trick.

If you are a savvy user, you don't need antispyware or an antivirus either.

I disagree. Even the savvy users realize that these apps come in handy on occasion and scan on demand.

I've never had a virus, and as far back as I can recall I haven't gotten more than a dozen hits of spyware ever. I do not have any antispyware installed any more, and I run the AV scan once every couple months. It has never picked anything up though.

Excellent. You also seem to fit in the category of the savvy users that I mentioned in my previous post since you also choose to scan on demand. :)
