nVIDIA Firewall & Asus MB?

Asus K8N-E utilizes nVIDIA's built in gigabit LAN, but it doesn't mention nVIDIA's hardware firewall anywhere on the Asus website. Is it possible to utilize this feature of the chipset by downloading some kind of driver from nVIDIA's website? I can't find anything there. Does anybody have nVIDIA's firewall up and running or know how I can get it to work? Thanks.

I have a K8N-E Deluxe and installed the latest nVidia UDP, which includes the firewall option if you want it. Since my K8N-E Deluxe rig is an office computer in a pretty tame, safe envirionment, I turned it off again for now. But it certainly works... I couldn't even join my own domain until I'd opened up the necessary ports for it to huddle with the server about being let in. Does that answer your question?

UDP means "unified driver package" and it contains the various drivers for motherboards with the nForce-, nForce2-, or nForce3-family chipsets. You can get them from here

Stupid question just needing to be verified. I want to install the nVidia drivers and not the Asus ones for this board right?

That's what I'd recommend, yeah. You'll need some drivers for the Realtek audio CODEC too, since it's not an nVidia product, and you can use the Asus-provided ones for that.

Well, I won't need to bother with that, I've got an Audigy 2 ZS. Of course thats if I can get it put in. Thats where I left off last night, the card didn't want to seat right for some reason. I was tired and decided to err on the side of not getting frustrated and forcing it.

Excuse me for asking, but your motherboard is mounted on standoffs, right?

Oh yes. Thats why I can't figure out why it doesn't seat right. The case has clips on the PCI slots, so they are tool-less, but it doesn't want to seat right on the two lowest ones (which is where I want the card). I had already setup the computer, so it wasn't in an easy to work on position.

I don't suppose you'd happen to have the SATA driver do you? Asus' site is problematic right now. I don'tk now whats up there.

Looks like that's the root of the problem, because I can't get into ftp://ftp.asus.com right now You can use the motherboard's own CD to make driver floppies for the SATA controllers, if I recall correctly. Try autoplaying the mobo's CD in a Windows system and see if it offers the option to make driver floppies for you. I'd try to make enough space at my ISP to upload it for you to grab from there, but my K8N-E Deluxe's CD is down at the office with the board.
