I have read several threads here (and articles on test sites) that indicate Nvidia's DVI signal doesn't quite cut it when it comes to driving high-res flat panels.
Well, I'm researching parts to build a new system, and have two Dell 2001FPs that need to be driven by a dual DVI card.
I am currently running them off a 9700 pro and a 7000 pci card, and the quality is fine.
But I am going to get a high-end PCI-E card that has dual-DVI ports. I was leaning toward Nvidia 6800 ultra until I started reading about a loss of signal quality (esp. on the second DVI port) at high res (1600x1200).
One of the threads suggested that higher tier OEMs may be using their own DVI output chips in their designs to circumvent this problem. Does anyone know whose cards have this design?
