I'm not sure which Nvidia card I have, but for this question it should not matter.

I want the graphics card to recognise the two monitors as seperate montirs, both with 1600x1200 display settings while managing a horizontal display.

currently settings say the montirs is running at 3200x1200.

i hope this makes sense

in other words its currently treating the two monitors as one. hence the resolution only reaching 1200 for the width.

In Windows, the standard Dual Display options are: (don't shoot me if they're the wrong terms, the definitions are what matters)

Mirrored: Both monitors show the same picture at the same time.
Extended: Monitors sit side by side (or one above the other), each showing half of the total screen picture.

With a resolution of "3200x1200" you are currently using an Extended desktop, with half of the screen on each monitor, and each monitor displaying 1600x1200, for a total of 3200x1200 (1600+1600 wide by 1200 high).

ahh, you are correct, my thinking was off. regardless, I would like to be able for the video card to treat each monitor as part of its own, unless I stroll something from one screen to the next.

I failed to mention I have the software that goes along with the 72.14 or whatever.
