nvidia drivers installation

i'll try to describe this the best i can

i have an ev3a geforce 6200le

i tried installing the drivers through the cd that came with it but when i tried it said something along the lines like 'windows denied access to this file'

so i went to the website and tried to install the drivers off there. i got the nvidia forceware off the website and i started to install it

it got up to isntalling drivers... or something along those lines and flashed the screen twice, then the screen just went to black and my monitor got "no signal"
so i waited a bit and nothing happened so i turned off my computer by the power button and turned it back on, but no display would show up.

so to get the monitor to work now, i have to take out the video card and use the onboard video.

anyone have any idea or any thing else i need to answer to get help?

Try changing the drivers to the basic vanilla vga driver while up on the onboard video. Then turn off the computer. Disable the onboard video and put in the new video card. It should come up on the basic vanilla vga drivers. Then reinstall the geforce drivers. If the setup program does not work then in control panel use system - hardware -device manager - driver update. Cross your fingers and reboot.

Hope this helps.
