(1) WHQL doesn't test for the card frying itself; it's assumed the vendor can manage their own cooling.again the worst drivers ever released from Nvidia were WHQL. there were two sets of drivers that were known to let cards overheat, one of them of course is the really infamous 196.75. no beta driver from Nvidia has ever come close to causing the issues those drivers did.
(2) Those drivers didn't fry anything for me.
Regardless, that's beside the point. The point is that WHQL certification requires more requirements than a beta that doesn't have any, aside from a basic signature.
Nobody claimed WHQL drivers are perfect, just that they're tested more than beta drivers, and that historically beta drivers have had far more issues. I bet I've tried more beta drivers than you, in far more games.
