Nvidia Detonator driver detonated!!

I have a 64 mg creative annihilator 2 (geforce2 gts) that i just put into my new rig. i got the latest nvidia detonator driver and installed it, and now after 15 min or so my screen will just go totally black. sometimes it blinks on a few times, then black again.
This even happened when i restarted during the bios screen.
What gives? anyone else have these probs?
Should i re-install the drivers that came with the card, and do i need to remove the detonator driver?

My first question is did you remove the old Creative drivers first before installing the Nvidia ones because this would cause problems if you did not, so make sure you have removed all traces of the old Creative drivers. I`m not sure if you was using Creative drivers before or not that`s why I asked,also what is it like in gaming?

no, i didn't. just loaded the new nvidia ones. assumed that they would overide any existing drivers.

Nvidia drivers will work fine if the old Creative drivers are removed first however you installed them without removing the old Creative drivers so this is the problem.

You can try removing the current Nvidia drivers and reboot & select the "standard mode VGA driver" then try reinstalling the drivers after that.

i removed the new nvidia drivers, reinstalled the old creative drivers, and the same damn thing just happened.
Any thoughts about what else it could be?

If it happened in Bios then it does not sound like a driver problem since Windows is not loaded then,I would reseat the Video card and make sure it`s all the way in,also disable all video shadowing as well.
