Nvidia Control Panel?

I recently got a few new D820's from Dell with NVS 120M's in it, and in reimaging, obviously the latest NVIDIA drivers wouldn't install (not supported???).

So back to the OEM Dell drivers, which are version 83.xx somethings. Older, joy. However, on install, they have 2 options for the Video control panel, the usual NVIDIA one with the slideout tray, and the "preferred" one - the Nvidia Control Panel. Someone vaguely Catalyst-esque, though more ghetto.

My question is, did they scrap this control panel? Is it reserved for OEM-dumb-users only? I've used several versions of NVIDIA video drivers on my home machine, and frankly, I have NEVER seen this control panel before.
