Long story short, under display there SHOULD be an option called flat panel scaling. But as you can see in the screenshot there is no such option !!! But I need it, so tell me, where did it go ?

I installed the latest Ntune from Nvidia's website, I'm running 174.74, perhaps that's the problem? I'll try installing whql certified drivers, but those are from december, and I don't really want to :(

Running a 8800gts 320mb btw, and a acer al2016w monitor, 20" 1680*1050. Reason I need scaling? Well, this new game, hard to be a god, only has 1280*1024 as it's highest resolution. I don't know why tbh, but it has, and my eyes hurt if I run it at 1280*1024, so I have to scale it down and play with black bars, so I don't get a frigging headache.

TIA,

Marc

I know you know this already, but you're connecting through DVI, right? Your screenshot says CRT, so I'd say the control panel thinks you're hooked up to an oldschool monitor.

It's not the drivers, Kitty's on 174.74 and she has scaling options. As a matter of fact, that's the first driver version I've gotten scaling to WORK for her on WinXP.

Why do you have English mixed with Dutch or German in your control panel? Maybe some driver update was not done by the book. Try to uninstall the driver in safe mode and then reinstall the latest version.

I am not at my computer now, but I think I remember that Flat Panel Scaling (or its equivalent) could now be under Manage Custom Resolutions. It's in there that you could find the scaling options.

So, I'm using some kind of adapter, because the cable that came with the monitor doesn't directly plug into the videocard. Meaning it's not a DVI cable, right ? So, does this mean my monitor doesn't support DVI ? And I won't have the option to use flat panel scaling ? The reason I have english mixed with Dutch is because I think that 174.74 only came as a international driver, probably lacking a Dutch language pack ? The Ntune I had installed prior to this one was actually in Dutch, but also had no flat panel scaling.

Yeah, Marc, sounds like you're stuck with no scaling until you pick up a newer monitor.

So yeah, no DVI input on my LCD screen. Jeez, the things I wish I knew before buying a PC, and now a monitor. So far it's been pretty good to me, but now I miss the DVI output, or the scaling option it brings ...

Thanks for the help :)
