I'm running Windows XP with a GF4 Leadtek Ti4400. I want to change my gamma and contrast a little in the color correction tab. I click on apply on startup and then save. When I reboot, 10 seconds after it reverts to default. How can I make it stop doing this? It is driving me crazy. I am not running anything like Rivatuner.

start>run>type 'msconfig'-open up the services tab, scroll down the list and you will find 'nvidia driver help service'-uncheck the box,o.k & reeboot.job done.

Thats how you can fix, only thing Im not sure of is EXACTLY what the heck "nvidia driver help service" does & if its needed or not.

Ill see if I can find out & post back her for ya.

I found this description over at the guru3d forums. (where I believe you may have posted this same question)

This is NOT my definition, its just a copy & paste of what someone posted about the "nvidia driver helper service", so I really have no way of proving if this info is 100% accurate.

Anywhoo, heres what he posted......

I do know that the "Nvidia driver helper service" loads and unloads the "drivers" on the fly.

Quite usefull when you're on a low memory system but, not really needed when you have adequate amounts of memory.

Shutting down and not loading (manual or disabled) this service anymore increased the respons time of the display properties for me..
