NVIDIA choice latop to replace bumbgate affected laptops

wow, if that true then its disgusting on nvdia part. ok, then I will just never buy nvdia graphic card for my client any more, I will going exclusively amd, take that nvdia.

Shame tough I usually can get nvdia cheaper. But its nvdia fault they ask for it

This was a calculated move, and most likely a smart one on their part. Sure it'll get a few people riled up, but those individuals were likely to get riled up over something anti-NV in due time anyways.

Its not like they changed the net anti-NV sentiment out there, they just changed up the time-table for it coming due. If not crappy bumpgate replacement laptops this year then it'll just be some relabeling scheme they have planned for next year.

But for the rest of the consumers, those 95% of people who just buy whatever DELL or HP shovels through their websites, they aren't going to care to even bother to take the time to hear about, let alone understand, the backstory of bumpgate.

I don't agree. While the people posting here against nVidia in this case were probably anti-nVidia already, there is another thing to consider.

In my case, due to my position as a "computer guy" where I work, a lot of people ask me advice on what to buy. In some cases they ask about video cards or laptops. While I personally tend to favor AMD over nVidia, I try to be as unbiased as possible when explaining the options. Sometimes they aks what do I have, and why is it AMD instead of nVidia.

It used to be I didn't really have a good reason, "eh seems to work better for the games I play". After this, my advice will be a little bit more AMD favored and I'll have this particular example to bring up every time someone asks why I prefer AMD.
