Nvidia Chipset with an ATI card?

Nvidia Chipset with an ATI card? I say NO PROBLEM. My bro here is sceptical & he happens to be the guy who is building a new box.

Opinions?

they work with no problems.

a lot people are using the nvidia chipset (NF4) with the x800 series, x1800 series, x1900 series, x700, etc ati cards

NF4 and X850. Why would there be problems? I would really get on nVidia's ass if my X850 didn't work on their board...

OK cool, I agree with you guys. I just am pushing him towards a Nforce 4 SLI rather than a ATI 200 Crossfire.

Thanks!

AFAIK this is correct. The Crossfire chipset also seems to be very competitive Feature/Performance wise with the NForce chipset.

Only problem is there's NO reliable Crossfire mobo on the market. A8R-MVP has numerous bugs, and ASUS doesn't even care to fix them. MSI's has SB400/SB450, which really sucks. DFI's RDX200 is ok, but again darn SB450 and darn expensive. And last, ABIT's AT8 seems very promising, but can't find anywhere in stock (actually ZZF just got some stocks, but they jacked up the price by $ 30!!! It was $ 100 AR just three days ago, and now $ 125 AR) and too new to be judged.

I want to try some ATI's chipset, even though I'm not going to use XFire anyway. But it's just too hard to find the mobos using darn chipsets.

Oh, that sucks then. Wouldn't bother with a SLI mobo then.
