I have been told to wait for these to come out before upgrading, I know little about them.

1. What are some of the advantages of waiting for these 2 things?
2. When will these be released (hopefully by the end of summer because thats when i want to upgrade for college).

3. How much of a price will they be compared to todays current best technology (cpu/mobo)?

Thanks.

P.S. Also could you put some links to articles on these next-gen technologys.

an nforce and palomino would be a great combo :) unfortunately from what i gather it could be as late as september/october before the nforce is out. i was going to wait, but looking at MP prices now, i'm just going to get a regular 266. if the desktop opens at the same prices i dont really want to wait for a price drop. ill get a setup now, then wait a couple of months for athlon4 prices to drop then get an nforce/pal combo when prices are lower.

Nvidia's chipset was appealing a month ago. But now I'm not to sure. I'm kinda liking VIA's chipsets. I haven't had a problem with any of the KT boards I've had. And I've had like 6. So I guess unless Nvidia comes out with some kickass on-board video board, I won't be switching chipsets anytime soon. :)

Do a search in the "general forum", "body text" for "nforce" or "SIS735" you'll get plenty to read for your pleasure.
