Last nite I installed XP (32 bit) on my new 7200.9 HDD. Everything went fine, got into windows and installed the latest graphics drivers. Went on to install chipset drivers and a couple of small programs (Asus probe, Asus update). However, everytime I restart the computer it seems to forget the chipset drivers. After installing them XP will detect everything (like network controllers etc) but as soon as I reboot its like i never installed them. What do I do?

Format and reinstall again.

This time......
Disconnect all unnecessary hardware, ie sound/extra hdd/optical drives/usb devices/modem/NIC etc

Reinstall.
install patches/SP2 (sorry, should say make sure you have sp2 and patches to hand.)
restart as necessary.
Install mobo drivers.
Restart.
install vga drivers.
restart.
Just install everything slowly - take your time, no hurries.

See if it happens after you do a clean install. Its a troubleshoot as well as a possible solution.

If you don't troubleshoot, you won't find the problem.
