Nvidia changes core business...starts selling crowbars ;)

No, it's not April 1st.
Several sites around the world have received crowbars from Nvidia. They look used, are black and the inscription reads:

"For Use in Case of Zombies Or...<NVIDIA LOGO>".

Your guess is as good as mine. HL3 with insane tessellation? LFD2? GK110 destroys the world? 😀

From what I gather nvidia sent the 690 out to reviewers in an nvidia painted ammo cans with the crowbars. I guess the 690 would be faster than the 7990 since it has a wider thermal envelope (better TDP), speaking of which, whatever happened to the 7990.

It's for handling their gpus in & out of the oven.

+1. Although I've given up baking. The bakes just weren't lasting anymore. First time I baked my 8800GT it kept going for months (underclocked to about 60% but still), the last time it failed the next day. Got rid of it and got myself a HD5770.

What a waste of metal. That material could have gone into a better reference design heatsink on the 680.

I highly doubt it would have anything to do with HL3. It's the wrong kind of crow bar, and valve wouldn't let nvidia steal their thunder if they did have anything to announce

No Nvidia fans are all that's left of ration people, the crowbar is meant for our protection against the "zombie" drones of the other side.

One thing is sure: 3DMark11 will not help AMD to reclaim that they have the fastest card this time.

"Fans" of either side are complete idiots. They are graphics cards and having an emotional attachment to a company that produces them is the equivalent of believing in omnipotent beings floating in the clouds.

I hope you're being sarcastic, because it's not really coming across. 🙂

He is far from being sarcastic. Really.

Really? What's the problem? Haven't had the time or spare cash to try one out for myself. Would be disappointing to know they skimped on a flagship card.

Do you go to sports forums and preach the same thing?

It's clear the vast majority of users here have a "favorite" despite you may want to believe.
