nvidia cards..

I was just wondering.. which companies are the leaders in nvidia line of cards... I dont wnat to here about how I should get ATI blah blah ... so if you guys could tell me which companies are leading right now.. that would be great!

Since you have obviously done massive amounts of research and extensive testing to come to the conclusion "I dont wnat to here about how I should get ATI blah blah ...", shouldn't you already know all about nVidia cards too?

Leadtek, Gainward, MSI, Asus seem to be the top makers, though eVGA and Albatron get quite a bit of press, too. Just find the one with the best price, features, and warranty/service for your needs. Brand name shouldn't matter that much, except if you're looking for a known overclocker, in which case you'll have to research particular models of particular brands.

I must point out that almost all the Nvidia based boards, and ALL of the 5900s are exactly the same. The only differences are usually price and software bundles.

Gainward Golden Sample 128MB fx5900 for $389 at newegg is a nice card (check the HardOCP.com review).

It's roughly equivalent to a 9800 Pro 128 MB, the only real problem with it is that nvidia has disabled trilinear filtering in their drivers for all fx5900s in at least two games (Unreal Tournament 2003 and Star Trek Elite Force II) in order to score better on benchmarks, and there is currently no way around this "optimization."

It also isn't known exactly how many other games have image quality turned down silently to score better.

Of course ATI isn't perfect either: some people are having problems in Half-Life/Counter Strike, even after the 3.6 catalyst dirvers, where using the ESC key freezes the game for a few seconds.

Despite the flames im going to get from this, Creative Labs cards are good. They are just rebadged MSI ones. And imo, MSI make the best.

Creative cards might have been rebadged MSI cards but they are most definatly not so anymore. Just look at them, Creative uses the stock refrence cooler, MSI's is far from it.

I dont know what they are like now, but by rebadged MSI cards, i mean the bare card is made by MSI, but with a cooler selected by Creative on it. Sandra detected my old GF2 GTS as a MSI card.
