nVidia card owners, a little help? nView troubles inside ...

Odd indeed.

WinXP Pro, Detonator 41.09s, UltraMon 2.1 installed. Under display properties, selecting the "normal mode (nView)" for multiple display support gives me one monitor. Span or clone gives me two, but then the resolution / refresh is identical, and I can't use the Ultramon powers.

Ideas? Clues? Experience?

im runnin Xp Pro TI 4600 Det 41.09s also and with ultramon

i just clicked teh button that sayd "extend my decktop onto this moniter" its under settings in teh display properties. i can set teh refresh rates independently and cool mon works fine. gives me 2 diff backgrounds and stuff

hmmmmmmm, the span option in nview is for the two monitors to act as one monitor large monitor.

go to:
display settings
advanced
(my tab says GeForce4 Ti4400) but whatever ur tab says

on the left, does a little menu pop out?

click desktop utilities
and click "Enable Dualview (Treat multiple outputs on an Nvidia GPU-based card as seperate display devices)

then try ultramon and it's goodness

TheEvil1 - I don't even have an "extend my desktop" button - I don't even have the two monitors in the settings.

5489 - I looked for that button, but couldn't find it. I hope my Ti4200 isn't messed up ... 🙁

ffmcobalt - Tried that. Got no help. 😛

From what I can tell, XP doesn't even know I have a second monitor hooked up.

you will find the "extend my desktop to this monitor" when you enable dualview.

try looking around the display settings more, it's gotta be there SOMEWHERE

Believe me, I've poked around everywhere. I can't enable dualview at all for some reason, and "detect displays" bumps it back to a single display.

Manually selecting clone/span works fine though. Makes me think it's a software problem.

can you find the option tho? i know that you have restart for it to go in effect

EDIT: btw, im pretty sure the clone, and span options will be gone when you enable dualview
