I just received my new video card today, an nvidia 9800 gx2, and it's a beauty. Here's my problem: it doesn't fit in my computer case! So, I'm going to finally build the computer I've been planning on. I don't have a ton of money right now and plan on using some parts out of my current PC to build it. I'll bring over the power supply, RAM, audio card, HHD and media drives. I'm buying a new motherboard and CPU. I need some help finding a large case and any suggestions on the motherboard and CPU will be welcomed. I need something big enough to eventually add another video card and run these monsters in SLI. I'm pretty much settled on an intel motherboard with a quad core CPU. The speed of the CPU isn't as important, (I'd rather save a bit of money there). I'd prefer the motherboard to support PCI express 2.0 and DDR3 RAM, but price might hold me back.

Anyway, computer geeks unite!

Thanks so much for the quick reply!

I've taken what you said into consideration and came up with this:

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811129021

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813131232

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819115017

To go with my other current components:

PSU: http://www.rocketfishproducts....-cpu-power-supply.aspx

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820231098

GFX card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130353

Audio card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16829102006

HDD: Acer 7600rpm (came with PC, next item to upgrade)

Do you see any immediate problems? Is there anything else I'm overlooking? I'll use my current keyboard/mouse and tv/speaker set-up. Do you think I'll have an issue fitting two of those gfx cards on that board? Thanks again for helping!

well he might want a 790i bc of the ddr3 but thats expensive ram. I would stick with ddr2 for now but if he wanted to do a 3card sli setup 750i wouldnt support that. and if he wanted faster ddr2 those run from what Ive seen better in 780i
