I wonder how many generations we need to go though b4 nvidia realizes the new power plugs are BAD.
I hope this is the last gen for the new pci-e power plug, and they decide to go back to the old style, or come out with a newer one which wont melt your video card.

You'd think the engineers which design these video cards would be smart enough to know proper electrical codes, and use proper wire gauges so they dont melt.

Wonder how many of those $2400 non-OC Ventus' they're producing? Seems like their 5090 lineup probably starts at $2600 now.

Yeah, I think they were insane to launch the 5090 with it after seeing what happened with the 4090. I think the long term failures in the field will be spectacular. Thermal creep leading what was once a properly seated cable to a poor connection over several months/years, followed by rapid unscheduled disassembly

Next gen they'll start selling proper cables as an extra must have accessory for $99.99 (+ tax).

is that missing a few gauges or not like ROP's?

Oh wait in wire code.. the lower the number better... so i guess we be getting extra gauges instead of missing, and they be like, but we gave you extra...

In wire code... the Jensen rules applies... the more they give you, the more they save.

"I've been waiting for Nvidia to deliver something that beats a $450 PS5, and they've finally done it with the $550*† RTX 5070. Huzzah!"

*MSRP suggested only. Actual cost may differ.
†Other components may be required at additional cost for best gaming experience.
That's not even the funniest thing.
This is some real hardcore, real Juche hours turbo shilling.
ALL HAIL OUR GLORIOUS LEADER JENSEN HUANG AND HIS BLESSED AR TEE EXCKS FIVE SEVENTY.

Sad thing is i dont think they really care about Gamer GPU sales, because they will be like, we did it as a service, and since us Gamers don't like it, they will take them all to the AI farms.

It seems like the AI Farms are a repeat of Etherium all over again.
I really wish AMD would bring back X-fire. Im sure 2 x 9070XT's done right would probably give a better performance boost over a single 5090 and still cost less.

Oh but we would need extra PCI-E lanes, and AMD could profit off that and give us extra lanes which we have been asking for since the 5950X telling AMD there is no point in that many cores without the PCI-E lanes to support it.

Kinda wondering why nVidia even bothered when it's not like you would in theory be able to purchase it.
Some of these reviewers enjoy getting Nvidia's ROPs blown on them. 😛

Reports are starting to come in that some DX9 gaming is really bad on the 50 series.

@lightmanek Why are you not using dark mode?

Not paid for but the GPU was sponsored for free.

I don't see the difference, when your looking at a GPU that expensive.

Oh sure Nvidia send me a GPU for free, and i'll even tell people the MORE you BUY the MORE you can SCALP and EARN!

Seriously i think im gonna be stuck with my 4090 for another year at this rate.
Which im not complaining seeing how its not that great of a performance boost over one, but, my brother really needs a xx90 class card because he didn't listen to me, and got that Samsung Odyssey g9 57inch which is basically 2 x 4k monitors pasted together.

Pretty much. Nvidia say that the reviews were not paid for but they think we the consumer are fools by assuming we think that an exchange of money is the only way to exert influence on the reviewers.

C’mon Nvidia, we’re not that dumb. Y’all were called the graphics mafia in the past for good reason. “Oh hey, nice tech publication you got there. Would be a shame if your viewership took a hit if for some reason you didn’t have pre-release review samples of our graphics cards.” - Nvidia, probably
