NVIDIA BIOS Editor Questions

I have used NVIDIA BIOS Editor to edit my memory speed but it does not seem to effect my core.

Here is a picture of what it looks like. With this setting my Core/Memory is at 175/540 Picture Why does that not effect my core? Am I suppose to set every one of the GPU settings to 260?

Under the Initialization tab, what does FW dissable do? It's not listed in the help file.

Also, has anyone changed their card ID and had any problems? I was thinking about changing mine to a Ti500 just for the hell of it.

i think it's Fast Write. some people especially VIA mobo users are having problem with fast write enable.

Ray just added the "FW' option yesterday in build 42. Yes it is fastwrites. If it's checked, fastwrites are disabled, if unchecked, fastwrites are enabled. I just used this program yesterday to mod the bios of both my Gainward GF2 pro/450 and my PNY Ti200.

I thought it would be that but I didn't understand why they would disable fastwrite. Interesting.

Also, I was under the impression that the Geforce3 Ti200 had DDR ram yet the utility only allows modification in the SDR category.

Fast Writes and Sideband Addressing are usually disabled because having them enabled can cause instability in some cases. They used to on my systems, but VIA's newer drivers fixed it. I now have SBA and Fastwrites enabled on my system with no problems. The performance increase isn't anything extraordinary, but it does help.

Yea, that's just the way the Ti bios's are. Ray has a whole bunch of bios's listed on his site from various manufactures and nvidia reference bios's. I loaded some up just to look. On mine I just set the "GPU" speed to what I wanted on both sides, all slots, SDRAM and DDR SDRAM, but if you notice you have only one option slot to set the "memory" and all the "type" slots are set to DDR.

I wish I new how to insert an image in these posts. I'd show you what mine looks like.

Fastwrites and Sideband Addressing can cause major instabilities on some cards/systems so manufactures often just disable them in the bios. On my system, Fastwrites work great but Sideband Addressing will lock the system up no matter what AGP speed I have set 1x,2x, or 4x so I leave SBA disabled.
