Yeah, I was wondering more about updated Physx (to maybe Hawken) or any other improvements to different games, as, because I have yet to purchase Tomb Raider, there would be little point in me bothering to install this if that was the only thing affected.

Sorry I'm so st00pid.

There is often a link to a pdf off the additional information section. Nothing there yet.

 Good news for nVidia card users. Tomb Raider was a really fun game I would highly recommend it to everyone.

I ran the benchmark with the past latest driver/Ultimate custom pre-set. It was 25.7fps. Installed driver on top, no reboot. Now 37
I have not installed the TR update.exe patch yet either. No chance.

edit: My benchmark fps , seem lower, after running a couple times. Still much better than last driver. 37 fps.

Hopefully better than the beta driver from a week or two ago. That kept down-clocking my GPU to 700mhz and I couldn't do anything about it. Tried reinstall, and a clean install, same issue. Went back to the last certified version and everything is good.

I played tomb raider for a few hours. From start until shortly after the first fight with people that shoot flaming arrows. It ended up crashing once (as I lit my torch after clearing out the previously mentioned guys). From what I understand, that's a vast improvement (didn't buy it until tonight).

It's playable with 1200Mhz SLI 680's at 2560x1600 with everything max (including hair) except AA is FXAA and DoF which I turn off because I hate the effect. Most of the time it's 60 fps, but in places that it zooms on the hair (usually when you're walking slow, not fighting, or cut scenes) it can drop to mid 40's. In action though, it has stayed 60.

In cut scenes, the hair seems twitchy sometimes and actually causes a weird almost shaky cam effect. It's kind of disturbing. I may play without it on because of this. Not sure yet.

edit: after playing around with the settings, I may put SSAO on normal instead of ultra, just so that it never drops under 60fps.

Those 2 titans are looking more tempting now. Ugh.

My Titan went from 40 fps with tesselation corruption to fixed tesselation and 55 fps. This is at everything maxed 2560x1600- not sure what my AA setting is on though.

Needless to say, game is running much better than before and I'm perfectly content with performance now

Well he does have a point, a million threads on the internet and everyone asks about fixes when they can easily see themselves.

"Up to 60% more performance in Tomb Raider."

Mother of...it seems to be correct!

1080p + 4xSSAA + TressFX + all maxed out. Internal benchmark

Titan@1006/3005@314.14 HQ_AF: 32.1 fps avg
Titan@1006/3005@314.21 HQ_AF: 45.2 fps avg

That's a 41% performance improvement!
But the newest patch also reduced the cost of TressFX with SSAA, so that might play a large role in the improvement.

Guys, I installed this driver and it completely disabled my slave SLI card (2xGTX 660s). The fans gets cranked all the way to 100%, too. I rolled back the driver and I'm okay again. Weird!

What are you running? Do you know if it has any effect on SSAO?

3930K@4400. But this benchmark is completely GPU bottlenecked. I'll re-test with 314.14 drivers later today to see how much of the performance jump was due to the patch.

I'm guessing those figures are for single Titan ?

I would try, the advanced options, clean install.

Also, every driver install requires you to re-enable sli in NV control panel. That is normal behavior. The fan issue is not.
