Nvidia Battlebox

I just happen to find myself at ABT's home page and saw something on an Nvidia Battlebox platform. It seems to consist of some rules to adhere to (typical NVidia cert stuff), and at least 2 780's or 2 Titans and comes with a special bridge.

Am I late to the party? The "article" got posted a couple days ago yet this is the first I've seen of it and nothing pops up after a quick search here.

Overall it seems to have some potential

Seems like just an Nvidia badged high in prebuilt system. Am I missing something outside of the fancy looking bridge?

lol, I agree.. Isn't that all an Alienware is? A fancy case on a prebuilt Highend PC? I'm just saying that if Nvidia can pull a "console" together that would be pretty smart of them and I bet they are clever enough to pull it off.

Heck I even have a sweet ITX rig that all I need to do is slap my 780 (or any high end card for that matter) in it. Imagine one all fancied out by NVidia? Just saying it would be cool.

There are guys who buy exotics and guys who buy 30k sports cars. Who's right?

Erm, 30k sports cars? Sounds awful cheap for a sports car. 😉 Hell, if people want to spend tons of money on their hobby i'm all for it. 4k gaming? It's awesome no doubt (with 60hz 4k panels of course. 30hz? No thanks).

That said, that isn't the point. Clearly they aren't competing with each other - I just don't agree it's a competitor to a console, that statement is outright idiotic. But it is ABT, big surprise there. A Lamborghini isn't a direct competitor with a Honda Accord, either. Unless there's some fantasy land where the target market for Lamborghini's is the same as the target market for the Honda Accord. 😉

The article title is a head scratcher for me. NV comes out blazing, with what? A sticker? Huh? This is Nvidia's answer to FUSION, no one knew what the heck it was or why the sticker was on their machine. 😀
