NVIDIA and SLI

Is it any wonder that 3-4 years after the demise of 3DFX that we now have NVIDIA touting SLI for their GPU's. I still have my good ol voodoo2 SLI from 1997 in a box down in the basement. I guess the boys at 3DFX have finally helped NVIDIA with their silicon. NVIDIA, afterall, bankrupted 3DFX and hired most of their engineers.

Anyone know which GPU's will be SLI ready? and when? I'm sure ATI is very afraid of the impending SLI GPU's; the benchmarks are gonna make ATI look silly. I can't believe the exec's at ATI didn't see this coming. NVIDIA DID receive all 3DFX patents and future technology.

nVidia's SLI functions completely different than 3Dfx's did. nVidia has rights to the name though, so it makes sense for them to use it.

As far as I can tell, it appears that the PCIe versions of all the 6800 series cards and the 6600GT will support SLI.

As far as any thoughts on ATi with regards to nVidia's SLI, see this thread:
