How long after Pascal was released did we start seeing high end custom cards? If there's a launch in July/Aug, are we talking October?

I just sold my 1080ti and will use the 1080 that Gigabyte (I'll never buy another Gigabyte product) sent me as the 4th replacement for bad 1070s they keep sending out until it finally dies.

Hoping to pickup an 1180 since it should be a little bump from the 1080ti, may mine decent and will be energy efficient.

It's got to be a bit faster after launch. I hope so anyway because no way on earth I'll pick up a reference cooler card.

I'll take an 1180 or whatever it's called, and then get back on the Ti track. Both will be great upgrades from my 1080.

I'm still baffled they didn't release anything this month and left us hanging - way too long too! No GDDR6 available, I get it.

Its former Intel mode. Nv have had volta for like what half a year ? Titan V for months. They could release 1180 easy peasy. But why. Selling tiny Pascal at old 14nm at absurd prices is hardly the motivation they need.

This just depressing all over.

Edit. If something is positive its there it no longer paid forum members telling me i cant write nv because its spelled wrong.
Heck the self destructive praising of the wonders of crazy expensive gsynch have luckily also stopped.
Its seems people is starting to feel the pain and perhaps it makes them think better.

Maby Moonbog is wrong. Perhaps consumers have a limit to how much crap they can stand.

...i know its naive.

The 1080 launched early May, so only really any delay if it's replacement slips into June/July.

Alleged Nvidia Turing GTX 1180 specifications leak

Nvidia's next-generation of GPU hardware is expected to launch in the summer of 2018, with July being a likely release date. The next major launch venue where Nvidia can showcase their next-generation of Geforce hardware is Computex 2018, which will take place in early June, acting as an ideal venue for a reveal/paper launch.

3584 is not a leak when I or anyone else deduced 1.4x Pascal from GV100 vs GP100 last year.

Also, number of ROPs is incorrect, should be 96.

Looks good but I'm waiting for the Ti model. My younger brother has been asking if I'm gonna get the 1180 so he can have my 1080ti. Got a bit more waiting to do before that happens.

That "leak" just looks like someone simply extrapolated and created a rumor.

The price and die size look like wishful thinking in this GPU market.

NVidia isn't going to increase die size by >30% on a more expensive process, when memory pricing has gone crazy, and GPU prices double crazy and sell at the same original MSRP as the GTX 1080. This would definitely be an opportunity to drive prices up again.

Those specs are definitely wrong. It'll be 10 nm for sure, and at least $749 for the more expensive model.

980 -> 1080 was only +25% though... which would make it 3200.

This is why I like you guys; down to earth and factual, good at spotting mistakes in the numbers.

I'm skeptical whenever I see wccftech.com as the source, and it's why I said on the OC3D forum it looks like speculation, concocted etc.

980 to 1080 was +25% because GM200 to P100 was +25%. P100/GP102 to V100 is +40% (Titan V is 5376, cut to 5120). So expect the same. It will be 3584 cores unless Nvidia changes their ratios again.

Definitely fake, it won't be called GT104 since they already used the GT for the Tesla architecture.

Any ideas on launch date for 11xx? It's been awfully quiet on the rumors front.

https://videocardz.com/newz/gigabyte-next-gen-mobile-gpus-are-scheduled-towards-the-end-of-the-year

"Next gen of GPUs" announced in time for GIGABYTE to refresh a laptop "towards end of year".

I think he's more interested in the desktop version, to which the release of mobile solutions isn't very indicative.

Likely seems an August announcement (I absolutely despise paper launches. They should hard launch or shut their mouths) and availability maybe September for the US and Asia (because they are always served first) and maybe October for Europe - and of course at a premium in Europe ;) ugh

The ugly thing is that by then Pascal is about 2 years old...wow!

Yep. Desktop. I sold my 1080TIs because the market was just nuts so now I'm on a refurb gigabyte 1080 that I'm not a fan of. Hoping to pickup an 1180 and then down the road a 1180ti. It's disappointing that we have to wait until late summer and since I'm not a fan of founder edition cards will be waiting for even longer.

No surprise that WCCFTech would pick up something like this; it's not news-worthy, and there is no substance.

Number of ROPs is wrong, and amount of memory is highly likely to be wrong (Micron and SK Hynix list 8-Gb density; Samsung lists 16-Gb, but is Samsung going to debut with it?).

SK Hynix will have GDDR6 out first, despite it being inferior to Samsung. Why would Nvidia go with the slower one?

Like I mentioned, it's a placeholder and matches the 'leaked specs' - all to conviniently I might add. There's more wrong with the entry - the name read out correctly, for one.

Shouldn't we be seeing all sorts of legit looking rumors/leaks at this point if cards are being released late summer or even early fall? I'm starting to think nothing launches until at least late fall.

If this is legit, you won't see custom cards until August/September but FE cards are coming in July. I guess it's one of those things where partners don't need to know anything since all they do is just repackage what nVidia gives them.

Usually if new cards were dropping in two months (end of July) we'd have far more info on said cards by now. We have nothing. It's rather odd.

It's one week till computex. Either we get there some rumours going or Turing is coming later. Beside Toms no one had heard of a July launch yet, i don't think we'll see a hardlaunch in July. Maybe a architecture presentation with release date, which will follow in august.

nVidia could be holding back info more deliberately than normal I guess. After all, how much do they really need to know? It's not like the partners will say no to selling FE cards.

It's definitely possible but it would be the most successfully secretive launch in history if they dropped at the end of July.
