is it not the strategy of every company, squash your competition? I see nothing wrong with it as long as the prices are fair, just Like MS, they have every right to walk over anyone they choose, AMD stood up to Intel without a lawsuit, Netscape should have done the same... wimps!

I don't see people ditching i815E boards which have integrated audio/video or KT133 boards that have integrated audio.

yeah, I'm hoping that this will only HELP competition. I personally don't care for integrated stuff, so the north bridge they are producing is useless. I'd like to see how/if they can improve the southbridge, whether by adding more features, or if they can improve performance...

creative-the jackass got the intellectual property.

Maybe they can create a chipset with a half-decent AGP implementation that doesn't crash under high-current situations. Hell, this would allow them to eventually bypass AGP altogether, leveraging a DDR unified memory architecture or a new high-speed bus. As long as it doesn't dilute their resources too much, this should be a good move for nVidia and the industry.

NFS4, onboard audio isn't TOO bad, but I try to find the ones that are without it. Integrated video just drives up the price in my opinion.

yeah they won't have any excuse at all.. the only problem with this is that you still don't get much performance out of it, becuase it's got a Unified memory architecture. still, if they ever made a chipset that allowed for AGP upgradeability, then we might actually see the Fast Writes, etc work at their full potential (as well as the AGP4x, alot of good that'll do..).

Sounds good to me and may actually help eliminate compatability problems VIA's chipsets been having with Nvidia cards. Once they do a better job than VIA and don't pull a Microsoft it's all good.

Expect motherboard prices to go up to $300 a pop (for the mainstream version) and stay there... Also expect &quot;ULTRA&quot; motherboards with a just under 1G price. Also - a T&amp;L move to North bridge to secure market segment.

And - o yeah - don't think other MB manufacturers will be stupid enough to keep their prices under the new &quot;standard&quot; mark.
