For example, the very popular ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 Socket 939 ULi M1695 ATX AMD Motherboard uses the ULi M1695 North Bridge and the ULi M1567 South Bridge.

Although I'm not sure, doesn't ULi runs the foundry for ATI's chipsets (like CrossFire??? & Radeon???)

For more info & opinion...
I think ATI is getting the squeeze, [/b]big time![/b]

Will this affect my future buying decisions? I think so! 😀😀😀
This has to put a real hurt on ATI. I'd heard several days ago that this deal was in the works and could not for the life of me figure why ATI wouldn't step into the picture.
Might be a good time to sell ATI stock short.

we need both ATI and NVidia to stay competitive. Look at microsoft to see what happens when there is only one horse in the race.

Depends on how long ATI's contract with ULI was and the terms. Any time one company acquires another, it assumes all its liabilities as well (including contractual obligations).

ATI may be safe for another 2 years, plenty of time to put a deal together with SIS or VIA (more likely SIS) for one or more of their Southbridge chips, all of which are quite good (VT8237R and SIS694 or later), or for ATI to roll-out newer SB chips.
