Nvidia 7900GS $199 no rebate/ tax free outside NY

been seeing their ads in video/audio magazines in the library for decades
yeah they definitely real. think this must be price mistake, so nobody call and mess it up for others? just a suggestion...
good luck to all who try. peace

Awesome price, too bad I jumped the gun on a 7800GTX on eBay few days back for the same price argh.

They messed up. That is actually a 7900gs they are selling. Also they say its pci interface at the top and agp interface on the bottom. Not sure whats going on with them.

Good catch... "PCI Interface", then later "AGP Interface".

Who knows what kind of card it is, if you assume "Pixels per clock (peak): 12" means pixelpiplines, then this is actually a 7600GT.

Is a GS not a GT.
I'm betting all who order will get a GS instead of a GT card so watch out.

Heh, I used to go to J&R all the time back when I went to high school in downtown manhattan. They're right by where the twin towers used to be (as is my old high school).

There are sometimes some fairly silly (trying to be polite) salespeople, but it's not like Best Buy and CompUSA have geniuses as salespeople. They do have some pretty nice salespeople too though (ok the one guy up in the consumer camera section was cool the last time I went-and arguably knew more about real photography and gear than the nitwits in the SLR section), so that's a plus.

Anyways, I guess the real point of my post is that yes for the last time, J&R is a legit store (I think it stands for the first names of the couple that owns/runs/founded the store). It's kind like a NYC area CompUSA that sells tons of music and DVDs too (I mean like, tons-they have a massive collection).

They are however, not all that massive of a company though, it's just this one store. Although they do a lot of catalog and I guess online sales now so they might be quite a bit bigger by now.

And now, to the real sad point of my story: I have to pay sales tax because I live in NY. *sigh* Well the other point is that it's funny as a new yorker to see people post that J&R is legit, or wonder if it's legit.

PCI-E version.

Ok price for the GS.

Just poor proof-reading from jr.com.
