The rumor (Inq) was a March launch at Cebit (which runs March 9-15). Now the rumor (again from the Inq) is that they will not have hard products in time for Cebit, so they may do a paper launch at Cebit, and a hard launch later. We'll see.
thats so long away. i want to build a new system for PCI-e and was hoping to stay clear of ATI this time around after the drama i have had with 9700 AIW Pro and 9800 Pro (both AGP). not to mention their control center.
the control center wouldnt even run on eitehr of my systems if i dont let cli.exe connect to the net, i e-mailed the tech support and got a rediculously stupid standard "q-card reading by a waiter" instead of a technical reply about it.
also neither the 9700 AIW nor the 9800 Pro had native resolutions for my monitor http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSH...yName=cpu_Displays_FlatPanelLCDs_20%22 , i actually have a little bit later model then this but there are no available links to it. at any rate, none of the ATI cards i tried supported the native resolutions for it so i had to go and buy a cheapy Nvidia for around 80 bucks just so i can run it at all, as a result i am suffering from performance issues.
would be nice if it was possible to have a top performance video card but without the ATI drama and headaches. damnit.
