I've been hearing a lot of stuff about the nVidia 7800 Ultra. I've heard both that it will not be made, and that nVidia is waiting for ATI's next GPU to come out before releasing it. I'm building a new computer (see question in tech support forum) and want to know if this card would be worth waiting for or if there won't even be a 7800U. Thanks.

No idea. The substance of the card is: 512MB, higher clocks on core and memory. Memory would probably be the same 1.26ns stuff that ATI uses. They're supposed to release it from what I've heard mentioned, so we will see...

I would be surprised not to see an Ultra card, although I have no info as to it's existence or not.

It would seem to me nVidia would want to spoil ATIs Christmas by releasing a card with 512MB RAM and clocks around 500/1400+.

Time will tell, they could do it easily enough.
